In The Press: Free pampering treatment offered to NHS staff

Now, more than ever, we are all appreciating the work and dedication of our NHS staff.

The founder of Derby’s Avance Clinic, Carly Bartram, wants to do something to make them feel pampered and cherished. So, she is offering her most popular treatment – a laser hair removal session – free to NHS staff as soon as her clinic is allowed to open under Government guidelines.

Carly’s clinic, on Tutbury Avenue, Littleover, opened in October 2019 and she is looking forward to re-opening as soon as it is permitted and has planned how the safety of all her customers and staff can be ensured.

“Those who work for the NHS are heroes on the frontline of the pandemic and I wanted to show my gratitude for everything they have done – and continue to do,” she said.

“The layout of the clinic will make it easy to maintain social distancing and we have always adhered to strict cleaning and hygiene procedures to keep all our clients safe,” she added.

The offer is available to anyone who has not been treated previously at Avance Clinic. You can email info@avanceclinic.co.uk from your NHS email account, using the subject line ‘NHS VIP’, and you will be contacted to book an initial consultation and patch test once the clinic is open again. After that, NHS staff can book a free session of hair removal.

Carly explained: “We meet every new customer for a consultation, a patch test and to take medical history details to ensure that the treatment will be effective for them. If you are pregnant, taking certain medications or undergoing cancer treatment, hair removal by laser is not suitable. For other women, and men, it offers permanent hair reduction, with much of the hair not re-growing at all. A number of sessions are required to get the best results, but even after one session clients report that any hair that grows back is finer and less noticeable.”

Carly only uses the award-winning Lumenis laser machines. She and her staff are fully-qualified in their use.

She added: “People who work for the NHS have had so many worries and stress and so little time to spend on themselves. I thought this was a small way I could offer them a chance to be pampered and enjoy smoother, silkier skin with our most popular treatment.”
