What is a carbon peel facial?
A dark carbon paste is smoothed across your face, like a face mask, as you lie comfortably on a bed with your eyes protected by goggles. The paste penetrates into your pores before a special laser is swept across the skin. The pulses of light energy from the laser are attracted to the carbon particles and vaporise them along with dead skins cells and the oil and dirt that the carbon has absorbed from your skin.
Your skin is deeply exfoliated, leaving it smoother. Many clients report that skin tone looks more even, any pigmentation patches are lightened and open pores are reduced. The laser stimulates the production of collagen to firm up the skin and target fine lines and wrinkles. It’s ideal for people with sensitive skin or anyone who is battling acne or problem skin.
How long does the carbon peel facial take and what are the after-effects?
The carbon peel only takes about 30 minutes. You can just drift off while our expert technician works on your face. It’s painless and there are no reports of complications or painful side-effects. You MAY experience a very slight redness or tingling that soon disappears. You can go out and party the same evening if you want.
We do recommend you use SPF 50 sunscreen for a month after the treatment, because exposure to the sun on top of the laser treatment can cause hyper-pigmentation.
