What are acne scars?
Acne is a very common and distressing skin condition, affecting teenagers and adults. Any type of acne spot can lead to scarring, but it’s more common when the most serious types of spots (nodules and cysts) burst and damage nearby skin. This can leave pitted, pock mark-scars behind or raised red scar spots.
How does laser treatment work on acne scars?
The ResurFX™ mode of our M22™ Lumenis laser can precisely target the problem area of the skin and fire light energy into the deeper skin layers, which stimulates the growth of new collagen (a type of protein found in skin) and elastic fibres. This can repair some of the damage caused by scarring, and improves the appearance of the skin.
You may notice improvements after your first treatment, but most customers require a series of sessions. Three to five sessions at two to six week intervals is the average. The results of the collagen regeneration can continue to make further improvements up to six months after the last treatment.

I’ve recently had a course of IPL laser treatments for my port wine birthmark and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. At every appointment she is friendly, personable and professional and always makes you feel comfortable. We have a good catch up and a great laugh every time I see her. From starting my journey, I have since moved to Brighton and I now travel 3 & 1/2 hours just to visit Carly at Avance Clinic! I would not go to anyone else, she is an expert in the industry and a lovely person. The difference that I have noticed is incredible and it has changed my life massively. After years of struggling with thick dark hairs around my chin, jaw and upper lip which in the end I was using tweezers on every day, I was desperate to find a solution and came across Avance Clinic which offered laser hair removal. From the start Carly made me comfortable, she was friendly, helpful, honest and transparent about how it worked and how many sessions I would need. I was still very skeptical that it would work for me however I was amazed that I noticed such a difference from the very first session. I am now nearing the end of my treatment and can honestly say it's changed my life with the majority of the hair gone. I would highly recommend.

Carly is absolutely amazing at what she does. I have had 6 sessions of laser hair removal for my underarms and the difference is insane. I used to have to shave everyday because my hair grew so quickly and now I hardly ever need to. There are no more dark patches either which I love and the skin is so smooth. I would never go anywhere else as Carly is so friendly and gives you invaluable advice. Finding avance clinic has been one of the best things that happened to me this year. I am an frican lady with very stubborn dark marks on my face and have been looking for clinics that performs laser skin treatment on african skin, I have gone to many clinics in the uk but I get rejected because they do not have experience with my skin type. luckily for me that was not the case with avance clinic, they welcomed me with open arms and took the challenge, I have been undergoing q switched laser treatment and I must say they are the best. The care and attention I received is unbeatable, clean enviroment and very attentive staff. Booked to have a few thread veins zapped on face and from the very first phone call with Deborah then Sarah on Reception, the experience has been really positive.Carly explained everything and is very knowledgeable, really knows her stuff. Carly is professional, caring, honest, knowledgeable and a really lovely lady. From the moment you have contact with her or meet her, youre put totally at ease and know youre in safe hands.i felt extremely vulnerable coming in to show somebody something about me i wanted changing, but Carly subtly coached me through the experience and supported me the whole way. Im rubbish with pain and Carly was incredibly. I barely felt a thing and she had all the best tips for a painless but super result.After leaving my first session i felt disheartened that my hair looked the same, however 2 weeks later over half of the hair has fallen out!!! If I could give 6 stars I would! Carly does the most thorough job that I have ever experienced. I FLY FROM THE NETHERLANDS EVERY 6 WEEKS JUST SO I CAN HAVE CARLY I AM NOT JOKING! The results after only 4 sessions of laser hair removal have been unbelievable and I am barely seeing any regrowth. I have had laser hair removal before but never had these results. After having a failed course of treatment elsewhere using a different machine I thought that was it and I was going to be left worse off than before.
