What are cherry angiomas?
Cherry angiomas are cherry-red blood spots on the skin. They are made up of small blood vessels, or capillaries. They are a type of benign, or harmless, tumour that most often appear in adults over 30 and can increase in numbers as a person gets older. You should seek advice from a GP if angiomas begin to bleed, change in appearance or feel uncomfortable. When they first appear they look like little red dots, but over time they can grow bigger and thicker and perhaps develop a raised, rounded shape above the skin. They are most common on the chest, stomach and back.
How does laser treatment work on cherry angiomas?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment is an effective way of removing these blood spots, or vascular lesions as they are sometimes called, and improving the overall appearance of your skin. The treatment can be customised by our experienced technicians to your skin type, the severity of the blood spots and the results you want to achieve.
Light pulses penetrate the skin tissue and create heat inside the blood vessels, which closes the vein’s walls and eventually makes the skin spots disappear. Treatment with IPL is precise and only targets the cherry angioma and not the skin around it. You may experience a mild sensation of warmth and some people report a minor tingle or slight sting.

I’ve recently completed my 6th session with Carly, and I wish I did this years ago! The results from laser is amazing and has boosted my confidence with areas I’ve been self conscious about for years. Carly is also amazing during the experience, she’s very knowledgable about the whole process and makes you feel very relaxed - even whilst working on intimate areas. Before starting this journey I have done a lot of research and I am so happy I found this clinic in Derby. I started my laser hair removal treatments 6 months ago and the results I have so far are unbelievable. Lana is very knowledgeable and professional, she explains everything (knows everything about laser hair removal) and is very patient with me during the treatment. Also, as a bonus, every time I go to my appointments with Lana it feels like going to visit a long time friend for nice chat. 🤗

Finding avance clinic has been one of the best things that happened to me this year. I am an frican lady with very stubborn dark marks on my face and have been looking for clinics that performs laser skin treatment on african skin, I have gone to many clinics in the uk but I get rejected because they do not have experience with my skin type. luckily for me that was not the case with avance clinic, they welcomed me with open arms and took the challenge, I have been undergoing q switched laser treatment and I must say they are the best. The care and attention I received is unbeatable, clean enviroment and very attentive staff. Booked to have a few thread veins zapped on face and from the very first phone call with Deborah then Sarah on Reception, the experience has been really positive.Carly explained everything and is very knowledgeable, really knows her stuff. If I could give 6 stars I would! Carly does the most thorough job that I have ever experienced. I FLY FROM THE NETHERLANDS EVERY 6 WEEKS JUST SO I CAN HAVE CARLY I AM NOT JOKING! After having a failed course of treatment elsewhere using a different machine I thought that was it and I was going to be left worse off than before. The discomfort of waxing and electrolysis trarments on unwanted hair prompted me to try laser hair removal. Carly welcomed me at Avance clinic answering all my questions which reassured me prior to the treatment. I have had a trial and 2 sessions so far. The treatment has not been painful and is such a relief compared to previous methods l have had. I am amazed with the results so far. Payment is per session or as a block which is really flexible. The clinic itself is convenient, with parking and really comfortable and welcoming.
